What is America's Favorite Pet?
Learn MoreAbby doesn’t play with toys as often anymore due to her age, but she does love a good peanut butter stuffed kong! She loves her wild-caught salmon rustic blend food from Open Farm! The main profile photo of Abby was taken by Kristina Lorraine Photography, also her favorite go to person for photos!
Her resilience! I rescued her from a very full shelter the day before 4th of July close to 12 years ago. She has truly saved me every year since then. She has taught me how to save more dogs too through fostering for a local animal rescue group and showed me how strong she can be after being diagnosed with bladder cancer almost a year ago. She joined a clinical trial for her cancer and is now not only thriving but is contributing to research to help save more lives in the process!
There is currently no cure for bladder cancer in dogs. Abby is contributing to cancer research by participating in a clinical trial, which will save dogs and also help potentially save human lives! She is also a shelter mutt, which are all too common in America! She has been a great dog to show other foster dogs in our household how to thrive and find forever homes!
