Alana is like her parents and is a true foodie. She enjoys her “indestructible” corn on the cob, hamburger, and like a true Bostonian, her sausage-egg-and cheese on a croissant. As a Caribbean-born gal, she never turns down fruits, especially blueberries, mangoes, and watermelon.
Alana is independent: she knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to communicate. She will cuddle into a lap when she wants love, nudge a hand when she wants a good scratching, and jump at the door when she’s ready for a walk. She loves humans and other dogs, at least from afar. We love Alana’s ability to learn as she is always curious of new things, whether it be puzzles, new tricks, or a little critter she will gently paw at.
Alana exemplifies resilience, love, and perseverance. She travelled from PR to Florida, to NY to MA in a small cage with other dogs. Like many who travel and find a new home, it wasn’t easy for Alana: she was very guarded, anxious, and showed uncertainty of who to trust. Gradually, Alana’s tail started to wag and the need for cuddles were constant. She became acclimated to her surroundings and more importantly, allowed herself to trust a family who unconditionally love her.
