Bogart is a lovable Rottendoodle who loves reading with kids in the library.
Thank you for supporting Bogart in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid PAWS in their mission to help cats, dogs, and wild animals thrive in happy, healthy homes or in their natural habitats.
What is America's Favorite Pet?
Learn MoreBogart’s full name is “Bogart the Liberator of Sqeakies.” So, any squeaky toy is fair game. As for his favorite treats, Bogart has been diagnosed with early renal failure, so his favorite treats are dehydrated sweet potatoes and belly scratches.
Bogart has the best personality. He loves everyone without hesitation. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, he goes to work with me at Garden City Elementary School where he hosts Bogart’s Book Clubs. Each book club consists of groups of 4-5 struggling readers who love coming to spend 20-30 minutes with Bogart who listens to their every word with hopes of helping them become book lovers. He loves hanging out with the kids and expects them to scratch him the entire time.
Garden City Elementary faculty members give “Gus the Gator cards” to students in recognition for showing characteristics of good citizenship, including being good listeners or paying attention in class, among other things. As recognition, they receive a bracelet that says “Be Kind.” When Bogart’s name was announced as a Gus the Gator card recipient, the applause, laughter, and cheers were loud enough to be heard down the street from the school. He is definitely the favorite dog of these kids!
