What's your dog’s favorite toy and/or go-to treat?

Carter has had a bad back his whole life which causes him discomfort if not pain. Therefore Carter is not your typical bouncing Boxer. He gets frisky at meal time and will run laps around the kitchen island while impatiently waiting for his food. He rarely plays with toys but will devour any treat at any time. Carter can be found at my side day and night. He prefers to be touching me but definitely must have me in his sight.

What is your favorite thing about your dog?

Carter is my ninth Boxer. It is so unusual that he doesn't display raucous, rambunctious energy that it took some getting used to. I have come to appreciate the constant, ever present companion he is. The only place he doesn't follow me is into the swimming pool. I find myself telling him "I will be right back" begging him not to follow me. Although Boxers are intelligent and easily trained, they are also stubborn. So follow me he does; everywhere, every time. This is what I love most about him

Why should your dog be America’s Favorite?

Carter embodies all that a dog should be. He is my canine companion and nothing is more important to him than being with me. Perhaps because this gives him comfort, security, pleasure. I know that is what it gives me to have him near.
