Originally Della was a stray kitten living in Philadelphia, but now lives happily on a farm in Temecula, CA with many animal friends.

Learn MoreDella tends to get bored with toys pretty quickly, but she loves to play with her pack of 6 fellow nephew/niece cats on the farm. She loves to chase, and her favorite thing is find a nice spot in the dirt to roll around for a while. Her favorite treat is without a doubt a delectable squeeze pack. She will follow you anywhere if you have one in your hand, and she knows how to ask for it too. Every once in a while she also enjoys a small bowl of rice milk before she takes a nap.
Personally I never thought I was a cat person. Della and I became friends initially when she would crawl out from the warm boiler after a cold Philly night in the warehouse she once lived. She would greet me in the morning with a loud meow and then follow me for some food & water. I’ve always loved her speaking abilities - our ability to communicate. She knows how to “kiss!” and my favorite thing of all is when she climbs on my shoulders and lays there for a while, like an 8 pound furry parrot.
I believe Della should be America’s Favorite because she has truly experienced the American dream. From cold winters, scavenging the streets of Philly, To a roadtrip together across the US (which included her visit of 13 states) to a successful job as a farm protector in Temecula. She has been through so much in her short 4 years, but I’d be willing to bet that there is not a cat in the USA that deserves to win more than her beautiful, long whiskered, gray and white face.
