His favorite toy is the one that his dog friends have in their mouth next to him! Although his top favorites are: bones of any shapes and sizes (he doesn’t discriminate) and toys that have squeakers in them.
My favorite thing is how much emotion he shows; whether I’ve been gone 5 minutes or 5 days, I get the most dramatic song and dance when I return. He howls when he wants something, or if a siren is going by to let others know it’s near. He dances around all new bones or chases his tail when he’s bored. He will lick my entire face in the morning and I’m convinced that’s his love language. And he’ll stare deep into my soul with his brown eyes when he knows I’m sad, to let me know he’s there for me.
He was abused as a puppy and set to be euthanized after someone purposefully broke his leg. While anxious and untrusting of humans when I first rescued him, he’s completely come out of his shell and shifted his entire behavior to those around him. He trusts and loves everyone around him so deeply now. My dogs story will help show the world why rescuing is so important and that with the right love/commitment/training, you can give a dog a second chance to live their life to their full potential.
