Sadly, Happy was abandoned because he was elderly, blind, toothless and almost deaf. He now lives "happily" at our senior dog sanctuary.

What is America's Favorite Pet?
Learn MoreHappy doesn't need toys to be happy. His favorite treat is to be picked up by a human and placed on a human bed on a big pile of human pillows. I imagine he may think he is a human. He also loves soft treats, as he is missing most of his teeth and can't chew hard treats. His tongue is always hanging around outside of his mouth because there is nothing to hold it in. This just adds to his cuteness.
My favorite thing about Happy is his absolutely awesome and exceedingly sincere smile. Happy is, well, just so darn happy: happy to be loved, happy to share his food bowl with his best friend. Milkshake, happy to sleep, happy to decorate a pee pee pad or go potty outside, happy to cuddle with any person or dog or even Milo the cat and especially happy to just be alive. Needless to say, Happy is also a marathon kissing machine!
Happy should be America's Favorite Pet because, despite all of his adversities, he sees only joy and happiness in the world and then shares it with everyone he meets. Once you know Happy (or even just know of him), it is difficult to remain sad or depressed. Instead you notice all of the wonderful things that surround you . . . and smile, a big Happy grin!
