That’s a tough one…. Balls or food!?!?!? Maverick is VERY food motivated. There is nothing safe that falls on the floor in the kitchen. We have yet to find a food he doesn’t like. Maybe he should have been named “Mikey”? (Like the old Life cereal commercials). But he is also obsessed with balls, especially tennis balls.
Ohhh, so hard to pick just on! I think my favorite is when he jumps on the pool cover like a trampoline, when the pool is closed. Other favorites are when Maverick gets what we call “white eyes”. It doesn’t last long, but he has a silly, fast, freak out, where his eyes are so big we can see the whites of his eyes, and he sprints around and goes crazy with his front legs, or when we take him to the lake, and he tries to catch the waves made by the boats going by: or tries to catch the boats.
I think Maverick should be chosen as America’s favorite dog to help educate our society about animal abuse. I don’t think the world understands how significant of an issue this is, or how consequential the long-term effects have on these animals. Maverick was abused so badly, he was literally left broken and deformed. To the point he required extensive surgeries and cast changes that lasted over a year. It's amazing that Maverick still trusts humans, but many animals have it much worse!
