Receive Text UpdatesMemaw’s favorite treat is going to her grandma and grandpa’s and sleeping in front of their fireplace. She sits in front of the fireplace and yells at everyone until someone turns it on.
Memaw pretends to be scared but is actually really brave. She’ll hide or yell at something new but, as soon as she thinks no one’s looking, she’ll be right there exploring it. Every time we have to go anywhere, she makes a big production of getting in the car but, as soon as we’re on the road, she’s looking out the window at everything and yelling at me every time I stop. She’s become the most popular girl at petsmart and loves getting attention from everyone in the store.
Memaw is a sweet old lady who’s had a hard life. She grew up as a street cat where she had a teen pregnancy. My aunt began feeding her until she moved in and had her babies. Unfortunately, two of them were eaten by my aunt’s dog and the one who survived bullied her. She moved in with my grandma where she ate ice cream every night until my grandma died. I took her in after that. She doesn’t get ice cream anymore but she does drink milk out of my cereal bowl whether I’m finished or not.
