Better than treats or toys, Piper’s favorite thing is to enthusiastically jump into any pool and go for a joyful swim! Piper can “just keep swimming” all day long. However, when she can’t swim, Piper loves to play with her stuffed toys that squeak or enjoys the Amazon brand Wag Chicken Jerky dog treat.
My favorite thing about Piper is how friendly and joyful she is with every person she meets. As far as she is concerned, everybody deserves to be loved, appreciated, and she is genuinely happy to be around them. With other dogs, she is equally friendly and happy to engage in their comfort level of play. When at her favorite day care, the owner shared with me that she is popular even with shy dogs where she gently encourages them or will sit with them so they feel included.
Piper is adorable but that’s not why she should be America’s favorite dog. Piper’s approach to the world is to treat everyone with kindness. Piper lets you know she thinks you are special, lovable, and deserving of friendship with every encounter. If we treated everyone with the same “Piper”energy, the world would be a better place. Piper should be America’s favorite dog because she reminds us to be kind, welcoming, and friendly towards everyone, every time.
