What is America's Favorite Pet?
Learn MoreShe loves toys that are ‘crunchy’. She’s deaf so she feels it crunching. Piper loves to explore and loves her new home in the mountains. She also loves balls especially the orange and blue ones! She misses her old friends Winnie, Piper and Misty, her playdates at the dog park. Piper’s favorite treat is dried salmon and cheese stuffed in her kong.
I love how she’s not afraid to try new things. Her confidence making training so much fun. She will jump up high on fire trucks or walk a balance beam. She’s a sight to watch play or train. Being deaf Piper reads body language well and can tell when a person is stressed or depressed. She knows when to be funny or when to cuddle and be calm. She’s retired from her job as a Fire & Life Safety Dog and a Therapy Dog for First Responders. I have the pleasure & honor to get all her cuddles now.
Piper selflessly worked as a fire safety educator, teaching kids and adults life saving skills. She follows in the footsteps of her 2 sisters that have passed over the bridge and her brother that is 11 yrs old. All are deaf. Piper never lets her deafness define her. She hears, just not with her ears. She’s an all around good dog no matter what situation she’s in. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
