Poet loves a good worn sock but when he isn’t being mischievous he plays with his stuffed animals. His favorite toy is a stuffed tiger. 🐅 Maybe it is a coincidence that they have the same color coat- or is it true that dogs can only see in black and white? On occasion he will get a few bacon bites in his breakfast or a little lick of syrup.
Our favorite thing about Poet is his love and attachment to our daughters. (6 & 8 years old) He knows their schedule and is always eager to walk them to the bus and escort them home. As soon as he is greeted he is overcome with joy! He loves to listen to the girls read and play tag or fetch. (The toy doesn’t always come back-still working on that.) Just like us, he is a work in progress but it has been very rewarding to see the girls learn a sense of responsibility and pride in his care.
Poet came into our lives after a challenging year, he brought comfort and companionship to everyone. As a multicultural home we wanted a named the encompassed our love for language, reading/writing, creativity, and imagination. He is a friend to everyone. If Poet wins this competition we want to invest the money into his training to become a certified therapy dog and volunteer through the R.E.A.D program. (Reading Education Assistant Dog) A vote for poet is a vote for the community!
