When I’m in the kitchen making food he knows it’s for him and waits on the couch. Our favorite is baked potato and sunny side up egg. He doesn’t like the skin so I peel it off of each bite. I eat the skin and he gets the potato.
Im his 3rd owner. He had a rough childhood and was recovering from heartworm when I adopted him. My husband/pastor of 30 years passed away from covid and I was kicked out of my home. I wasn’t needed anymore by our church family. I left CA withthe clothes on my back. I had Covid, shingles & pneumonia. I went to a shelter in AZ bc I didn’t want to be alone. My first night with him I slept for 16 hours. When I woke up he was laying across my chest, he looked at me and kissed me all over my face.
His character, ability to adapt, he loves his mom, loyalty. He’s not without fears but pushes through those moments with my help. The pic I sent wasn’t the best one but we were having a storm and he was scared. I have to cover his head so he feels safe. He saved my life and continues to save it every day.
