Alastair has the sweetest way of saying hello- he gives hugs. He pops up on his hind legs, gently rests his front paws on your hips, and gives the biggest squeeze, like it’s the only greeting he’s ever known. We’re still polishing his manners, of course, but this loving habit is part of his charm. His hugs are pure heart and they never fail to make you smile.
Alastair should be America’s favorite dog because he represents resilience, forgiveness, and hope. Once chained to a fence in the freezing cold and neglected, he chose trust and love instead of fear. In just eight months, he’s transformed into a healthy, happy companion who proves that with compassion, even the hardest beginnings can lead to a beautiful new life.
