Barnaby believes whipped cream from the can is the BEST. TREAT. EVER! Sprinkle some freeze-dried chicken or turkey on top, and he is over the moon!
Barnaby communicates with his whole face. His expressions feel like conversations...raised brows, tilted head, and knowing looks that clearly convey joy, annoyance, curiosity, and love. He’s deeply aware of those around him and responds with empathy and intention. Life with Barnaby feels less like owning a dog and more like sharing life with a soul who just happens to have four legs.
Last Christmas, Barnaby became our unexpected hero. He woke me in the night with a whimper, then a bark—something he’d never done before. When I followed him, he led me to my mom, who was struggling to breathe. Her “cold” was actually COVID, and her oxygen levels were dangerously low. Doctors later said waiting longer could have been fatal. Barnaby somehow knew and proved that love sometimes has four legs and perfect timing.
