What's your dog’s favorite toy and/or go-to treat?

Chickadee loves ALL THE TOYS & TREATS! She is a suuuper strong tugger and will put a tug toy right into your hand. Toys that crinkle and squeak are also top notch in her eyes. She can quickly dispatch and unstuff a stuffy toy in no time flat! Chew toys need to be well made for this tough chewer Chickie, she will grind down a bone into some kind of shank! And there are no treats she won’t shamelessly beg for!

What is your dog's most unique quality?

While Chickadee is not technically a bird-dog, she is an avid birdwatcher! She is named after a cute little bird with a notably boisterous song. I also am a birdwatcher, so I think she takes after me! But she sits at the window and watches everyone who visits the bird feeders. She gets pretty darn excited when there’s a squirrel or occasional deer!

Why should your dog be America’s Favorite?

My Little Chickadee is lucky to be alive! She was discovered when authorities were called to a farm due to the horrific condition of several horses. Two little dogs were found in even worse condition than the horses! Suffering from mange, awful infections and multiple parasites (including devastating heartworms) she and her companion were nearly hairless, starving and terrified. Sadly, the other pup didn’t make it, but thanks to a wonderful, caring group of rescuers, Chickadee is a survivor!
