His favorite toy, without a doubt, is his green squeaky ball. It goes everywhere with him—around the house, outside, and even to bed. If he can carry it, it’s coming along. As for treats, he’s extremely food-motivated, but potatoes and bacon-flavored treats are his absolute go-to. The moment he hears the bag, he’s all ears and ready to do just about anything for one.
Cookie’s most unique quality is his empathy. He is incredibly emotionally intelligent and seems to sense when either his dad or I are having a hard day. In those moments, he does everything he can to comfort us—curling up close, resting his head on us, or giving gentle kisses until he earns a smile. It’s as if he knows exactly what we need, and his presence alone can completely change the mood in a room.
Cookie represents the dogs that are so often overlooked. He was the smallest, shyest runt of his litter—the one no one chose. Despite developing severe separation anxiety from his early life, he’s grown into a deeply loving, loyal companion. His story shows what patience, compassion, and a second chance can do, and why every underdog deserves to be seen.
