He’s always gravitated toward larger plush toys, and I can somehow tell just by the look and feel which ones will become his “baby.” He gently sucks on them like a pacifier and often falls asleep with one in his mouth. When it comes to snacks, Dublin loves simple, high-quality treats with limited ingredients. Anything fish is his weakness, especially cod skins, which are his all-time favorite.
Dublin’s most unique quality is his perfect mix of calm and chaos. He gently self-soothes by pacifying himself with his favorite plush toys, often falling asleep with one in his mouth like a baby. Then without warning he transforms into a joyful whirlwind, stealing bathmats and towels, emptying bookshelves, and demanding full-speed games of chase. One minute he’s comforting, the next he’s pure comedy. He keeps us laughing and grounded all at once.
Dublin should be America’s Favorite Pet because he loves with his whole heart. He helped me through profound grief simply by being there, steady, gentle, and endlessly affectionate. He lives fully in the moment, finding joy in the simplest things and reminding me to do the same. And just when life feels heavy, he’s hilarious and a little wild, filling our home with laughter and light. He’s proof that dogs in our lives don’t just walk beside us, they help lead us forward.
