His favorite toy is the first stuffy I ever got him when he was just a tiny nugget: a little yellow duck the size of my palm. Finn is 85lbs now and he still grooms it every morning and sleeps with it every night.
He likes to hold hands. It’s his take on being a golden retriever since he isn’t particularly golden and isn’t the best at retrieving. Retrievers were classically bred as hunting dogs and fetched ducks by very gently holding them by the neck… Finn fetches people in the same way. If you pet him or say hi or express any sort of love or affection, he will turn around and gently grab your wrist and try to walk you home with him.
Finn has befriended so many people that when I attempted to throw a *small* birthday party for him… 83 people came out to sit and stay. With the athleticism of a pool noodle and grace of a folding chair in the wind, Finn is more Chill-bo Baggins than AirBud - and we all love him for it. A testament to going your own way, Finn hopes you’ll help him officially become a “golden” retriever (and less “golden digger,” in the words of his single Mom/landlord/chauffeur).
