Freyja is a female 11 year old basset/lab, who has been a beloved member of our family for 9 years. She has struggled with numerous health issues throughout time, and is slowly losing her hearing, as most aging dogs do. Sadly, last year, Freyja also lost sight in BOTH of her eyes. What’s unique about this? Our girl has suffered MAJOR readjustment and adaptation in the last six months, but she has been the bravest girl!
Freyja should be honored as America’s Favorite, because of the sheer level of adaptation she has had to develop, this last year, as her world turned to near-complete silence and complete darkness. She is a classic example of forbearance, and would serve as a wonderful Ambassador for handicapped, geriatric dogs everywhere. She continues to show an incredibly pawsitive (see what I did there?) outlook on life, and just loves every person she comes into contact with! Her soul continues to shine!
