Receive Text UpdatesJoey adores his little pink pig toys. No matter how many new toys he gets, he always returns to his beloved pigs—we’ve even bought multiple sets so we’re never without them. He’ll happily accept any treat, but green-lipped mussel treats are his favorite. Raw dog bones are treasured, though only after he carefully buries them in the yard and enthusiastically digs them back up—apparently, dirt makes them taste better.
We believe Joey understood from a young age that life is fragile. He is one of the happiest dogs most people have ever met and seems to know that every day is worth celebrating. His big personality shines through in everything he does: he must bury and unbury high-value treats, admires his own cuteness in mirrors, stalks his pig toys rather than simply playing with them, and loves trying to entice his big brother into play.
Joey is a living reminder that resilience, love, and joy can overcome even the toughest beginnings. His journey brings hope, raises awareness about PDA, and shows that dogs born with heart defects can still live full, happy, love-filled lives. Joey inspires everyone he meets to embrace each day with gratitude and joy. 💙
