We adopted Katie from an animal shelter in Claremore Oklahoma. She was the runt of 12 Husky mixed puppies.

Learn MoreKatie loves fresh cucumbers! When I plant a garden, she will hunt for the cucumbers and find them. My neighbor's also buy them for her. She would rather have a cucumber than a dog snack. She has had many stuffed teddy bears through the years. She cuddles them like a baby. When she was at the animal shelter, the employees rocked her to sleep at night because she cried a lot. They also gave her a teddy bear to sleep with. We kept it till it was thread bare after 10 years.
Katie smiles and her eyes sparkle! She loves people, especially children. She is very protective of her family, aging adults, and lost pets. Last year, my uncle died. We went to visit and she immediately laid at my aunt's feet, for hours. She has never done this before.
My dog has a beautiful soul. She has healed her family in ways we can never repay. She has traveled with us through many states, adapted well and never met a stranger. Family and friends have said she heals their soul, through her contagious smile and personality.
