Layla was a rescue at 7 weeks old. She is five now and still so sweet. She always wants to play with other dogs & people.
Thank you for supporting Layla in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid PAWS in their mission to help cats, dogs, and wild animals thrive in happy, healthy homes or in their natural habitats.
What is America's Favorite Pet?
Learn MoreLayla’s favorite toy is whatever her big sister Mila has at the moment 😂 She goes to her big toy basket and gets a new toy out every time I get home. She really loves the VERY loud squeaky pig toy haha. Layla gets a piece of banana every morning when I make a protein shake, and gets blueberries throughout the day when we snack on them.
Layla is fully black- even her tongue! She is a mix, but the DNA results say she is a Siberian Husky, Chow Chow, American Pit Bull Terrier, Labrador Retriever mix. We spend a lot of time outdoors in Colorado - at dog parks, on hikes, camping, and walking in our neighborhood. We always get stopped by people asking what breed she is because she is so unique!
Layla is the best! She loves other people and dogs. She sometimes thinks she is a cat - laying on top of the back of the couch, staring out the window at squirrels and bunnies. Her ears stick straight up, but when she’s excited her ears pin down to her head and she shakes her whole body 😂 She had a rough start when I rescued her; she had fleas, mites, and worms. She was extremely shy and timid at first, but quickly warmed up to her big sister Mila and I. She is perfectly sweet and spunky.
