I think Maggie’s most unique quality is how completely she obsesses over things she loves. When she finds something—or someone—she really likes, her focus is only on that. For example, her laser pointer. The moment she even hears you pick up the pointer, she knows. It doesn’t matter what room she’s in, she will find you. Once you pick up the laser pointer, you’re basically trapped. It’s playtime until Maggie decides she’s done (which never happens).
I believe that Maggie should be America’s Favorite Pet because she has shown everyone who meets her what bravery and joy looks like. Despite having nasal cancer, she still has a ton of energy to play and enjoys every cuddle she can get. She lives everyday like it’s the best day ever. Winning America’s Favorite Pet would honor not just her fight, but the countless pets and families walking through illness with courage. Her story will also remind others to cherish everyday with the pets they love.
