Oliver (AKA Ollie) is a lovable family member providing emotional support to all of us! He’s our baby & we love him so much!
Thank you for supporting Oliver in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid PAWS in their mission to help cats, dogs, and wild animals thrive in happy, healthy homes or in their natural habitats.
What is America's Favorite Pet?
Learn MoreOllie's has two favorite toys, a ball to play fetch & a knotted up shirt from Dad that we play tug with. He is so good at running after the ball and brining it back to us. When we play tug, he thinks he's the Alpha (at only 16 lbs) and pulls on that shirt with all his strength. As far as a treat, due to his very strict diet (he has had 2 bladder stone surgeries in his 9 young years), the Hills Prescription diet only permits their prescribed soft treats. If we let him, he would eat anything!
Ollie has been with our family since he was 9-weeks old and he's now 9-(human) years old. He is a Havanese, which is a Bichon-type breed. He is extremely cheerful, very intelligent, & has a "clownish" disposition, meaning he loves to play. His most unique quality is how he makes us all feel when we're with him, very calm and loved. He's always smiling and loves to site on our lap. Lounging on the couch with us is his favorite evening activity. He has the softest, most beautiful coat.
Ollie is the most lovable, intelligent dog. Because of his calm and loving nature, he has turned into an incredible Emotional Support/Therapy dog. My husband is a U.S. Marine Combat Veteran (Desert Shield/Desert Storm) and works in a highly stressful career. Not a day goes by that Ollie isn't needed to sit in his lap to bring down his blood pressure and provide him with stress relief. Instantly, my husband turns into "butter" with Ollie. There is no better medication!
