Pesto is absolutely in love with bottle caps (especially metal, but will stealthily steal plastic ones off our tables) & Cotton Swabs. Ever since he was a kitten, when my husband opens a beer or when I open the drawer with the cotton swabs, he comes running for us to throw them for him so he can sprint after it & play fetch.
Pestos most unique quality would have to be tied between his looks & his intelligence. His looks can best be described as when he’s sitting/laying anywhere in the house he will catch our eye & his look is so striking it makes us pause. When he looks at you, it’s almost as if he’s looking through you & he knows how blindingly sharp he is. His intelligence on the other hand is captivating to witness. There is no toy he can’t outsmart & beat, he can find a hidden treat in no time at all.
Pesto should be America’s Favorite because in all my 26 years of life, I have never met or had a cat this striking or intelligent. He feels emotions deeply, his own but also my husband & I’s. When we feel down, happy or sad, he finds us out of nowhere & immediately physically mimic's our actions in the moment to comfort in a way only he knows how. Pesto also doesn't miss a beat with his parkour zoomie skills, he has never slipped or missed a step, I feel as though he’d want me to mention that.
