What's your dog’s favorite toy and/or go-to treat?

Poppy loves her stuffed animals, especially the squeaky ones. At bedtime, Poppy will bring each stuffed animal to bed one by one. Poppy also enjoys playing with her favorite ball, rolling it down the stairs and chasing after it. Poppy loves to drop the ball in the shower and will sit and wait for me to throw it back to her. She loves fetch, but hasn't mastered bringing the ball back. Poppy loves cheese. Poppy can hear the cheese wrapper no matter where she is and will come running.

What is your dog's most unique quality?

Poppy's most unique quality is her very deep bond with me. Poppy is loyal and intuitive, sensing moods and offering comfort by staying close. Poppy's devotion is quiet but constant and shows in the way she follows me room to room. Poppy chooses me every day, showing that she has found the trust, affection, and her safe spot that she once was missing. Poppy's unique quality isn't just about companionship, but it is a deep, heartfelt loyalty that makes her presence feel like home to me.

Why should your dog be America’s Favorite?

Rescued by Lost Pet Recovery off a freeway embankment, covered in fleas, dirt and underweight. Poppy’s life started out rough. You can say I rescued her to a better life, but in reality she rescued me. My job is not for the weak. I see things that can give a person nightmares. Coming home each day to Poppy that jumps into my arms and wiggles in happiness, helps heal the heart of those visions. From the moment she was handed off to me, the bond was strong. Poppy is a survivor.
