What's your dog’s favorite toy and/or go-to treat?

Powell’s go to treat are her dental bones. She takes them very seriously — she’ll carefully pick the perfect spot to hide away and enjoy them in peace, and absolutely no one is allowed to interrupt. Her favorite toy is hands-down a tennis ball. Every time we step outside, she fully expects a game of fetch and proudly shows off her skills as my little soccer star. Even once we’re back inside, she’s still convinced it’s ball time, which is why they have to be put away when we are inside.

What is your dog's most unique quality?

Powell’s most unique quality is her total commitment to being a 45-pound lap dog. She’s shy and stubborn at first, adorably clumsy at all times, and completely unaware of her own size. She trips over her own feet, bumps into things, and then confidently plops herself onto your lap like she belongs there. Once you earn her trust, she transforms into the silliest, sweetest little shadow — and it’s impossible not to fall in love.

Why should your dog be America’s Favorite?

Powell is the perfect reminder that the softest souls are often the most special. She’s sweet, loyal, a little shy, and deeply devoted. She may be stubborn and hilariously clumsy, but that just makes her even more endearing. Powell makes people laugh, slows you down, and reminds you that the best things in life are simple — a tennis ball, a dental bone, and being right next to the person you love most.
