Riika’s sweetest qualities are her gentleness and love for nature. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She sits outside soaking up the sunshine, plus whatever she can see or possibly hear (she’s quite deaf, but can hear high-pitched birdies). Everyone should have her beautiful soul.
Most people don’t understand how dogs like Riika think. She’s not an ordinary dog. She doesn’t retrieve or play fetch. She sleeps all night in the bathtub. She’s a Finnish Lapphund, a dog of the Northern Lights. People wouldn’t think she’d want to swim, especially with her long, thick fur, but she loves it! She’s so smart and picks up new tricks instantly, talks to me as if human through different levels of barks. More than anything, she loves to be loved. Not cuddled, but loved.
