Weenie was a rescue from a hoarding situation in Miami. He was used for breeding. I adopted him a year ago and he has adapted perfectly.

Learn MoreWeenie does not understand toys very well as he never had any until he came into my life. He likes to have a couple of these dried sweet potato strips wrapped in duck or chicken. Every night we go to bed with his "cookies" and he will kind of play with them and eat them then he jumps on me for a drink of water. I have a little glass of water on my nightstand for him.
Weenie is very very timid but extremely curious. He clings to me like Velcro - he loves his Mama. He is very smart and coming to my home he has adapted to wee wee pads very quickly, but he does not understand going potty outside. It's been a year and I still cannot get a collar on him or anything over his head. We sit together in my reclining seat in the sectional and every evening and about 9:30 he will climb onto my lap and put his face in mine and snuggle telling me he wants to go to bed.
I believe Mr. Weenie should be Americas favorite because of everything he has overcome. He was rescued in Miami and a high school friend of mine contacted me about him and she arranged for him to be transported here to me in VA. Plus, he was heartworm positive and had treatment for that and is healthy today. Being Americas favorite will make people aware that rescue dogs with love and patients make wonderful loving pets.
